News this week: UBM Asia has announced that its Ecobuild series of events will cooperate
with Greenbuild Asia, an event
owned by AMB Exhibitions based in Kuala
Lumpur.
Ecobuild is held in
London and is focused on sustainable design, construction and build
environment. The last edition of this event was held in March this year and
featured 57,000 trade visitors and 1,500 exhibitors. There are already cloned
versions of this exhibition in China and India.
AMB’s Greenbuild Asia is held in Kuala Lumpur and focused on sustainable
building, design and construction. It is held alongside the International
Construction Week 2012 which is hosted by the Construction Industry Development
Board. The last edition of Greenbuild featured more than 11,000 trade visitors
and 450 exhibitors. In 2013, Greenbuild will be moved to the larger venue of Putra World Trade Centre, to handle its
recent growth.
In May 2011, UBM
acquired some AMB’s events including the company’s water, livestock,
energy, and mechanical industry events which are held in Malaysia, Vietnam and
the Philippines. The Greenbuild Asia event was not part of that acquisition.
