New venue in Hainan to open in July

News this week: Hainan’s largest exhibition venue, the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center (HICEC) will be completed on 28th June after a 17-month construction period. HICEC is made up of a 77,000 m2 exhibition centre as well as a 42,000 m2 convention centre. The venue will reportedly host nine exhibitions and four conferences within this year, and will host the Pan-PRD Regional Cooperation and Development Forum in 2012. The Hainan Provincial government has stated that it will lend financial support to large-scale exhibitions held on the island-province according to its size.

The venue’s first large-scale exhibition, the China Hainan International Auto Expo, will open on 8th July to coincide with HICEC’s official opening date. The event will occupy 33,000 m2 of indoor exhibition space.

IMPACT expands B2B exhibition platforms

News this week: The IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center has secured the hosting and organising of more trade shows at the Bangkok venue, following last month’s announcement of a partnership agreement with Germany-based Messe München International for the strategic cooperation to organise CONSTECH 2011.

The list of trade shows that will follow similar arrangements includes Pool & Spa Exhibition Asia 2011, which is set to launch this year in partnership with IIR Exhibitions. Pool & Spa Exhibition Asia will coincide with Green Building & Retrofits Expo Asia, a partnership with CMC Exhibitions from Singapore, which will run from 21st to 23rd September this year and will also be co-located with the Building Maintenance and Asset Management Expo Asia. In August 2012, IMPACT will partner Pixie Consulting to organise ISRMAX Asia.

Centaur Media enters China market

News this week: U.K.-based B2B media group, Centaur Media, has announced the launch of a new licensing partnership with Hong Kong-based Industrial Communications Group (ICG) to jointly publish the Chinese edition of MWP Advanced Manufacturing for the China market. Under the agreement, ICG will publish the magazine six times a year under license from Centaur with a reported initial circulation of 15,700 copies to engineering and manufacturing professionals. The Chinese edition will draw content from the U.K. edition as well as local content from a China-based editorial team. The magazine will launch in July 2011.
