Asian Online B2B Players: Who has cash on-hand?



After walking past a number of these Global Market Group ads in Chek Lap Kok Airport in Hong Kong, we got to thinking about the cost of these ad campaigns and similar ones around Hong Kong. In addition to Global Market, Alibaba.com, Global Sources, TTnet.net have plastered ads on taxis and billboards around the city during peak trade show season here (April and October).

So after running through those with reliable financials available in annual reports or prospectus documents, we came up with the following table:


With Alibaba sitting on a mountain of cash and Global Sources on nice pile, it is no surprise that they feel padded enough to run these ads, but Global Market might want to think twice - especially if that IPO of theirs continues to stumble along.
