News this week: UBM Live, organiser of
pharmaceutical event CPhI China,
reported a show record participation of 29,000 attendees this year. The event
was held from 26th to 28th June 2012 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC),
and was co-located with P-MEC China, ICSE China, BioPh China, InnoPack China, and LABWorld China.
According to the show’s official auditing results, exhibitors were up 17% and
the event grew 7% over 2011.
This year’s show included
the second edition of the CPhI Buyers Sourcing Event, which included 106
meetings that covered over 451 product categories. Other Asia-based
pharmaceutical events organised by UBM includes P-MEC India and BioPh; CPhI, ICSE, P-MEC and Pharmatec
Japan; and CPhI South East Asia in
Jakarta.
Haf Cennydd, CPhI Pharma
portfolio’s brand director, commented, “CPhI China and co-located events have continued
to gain traction in the market. Our growth in 2011 was significant and we have
continued that trend with equal momentum in 2012. These event results also
closely mirror the trends in the local Chinese pharmaceutical market that is
expected to reach US$100 billion by 2015.”
