News this week: The Thailand
Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has partnered with four
MICE-related agencies to develop the industry in preparation for the launch of
the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
The four agencies involved
are: Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports; Thailand Incentive and Convention Association
(TICA); the Thailand Exhibition
Association (TEA) and the Convention
Promotion Fund (CPF). The four organisations signed a MoU designed to enhance
the sector’s regional competitiveness.
The MoU provides a framework for cooperation with four main thrusts: (1) define a human resources development plan for the four main MICE subgroups – venues, hotels, organisers and service providers; (2) develop a specialist English-language curriculum for MICE professionals; (3) plan a training and seminar programme to strengthen MICE industry knowledge; (4) collaborate in publicising activities that will help the industry maximise its potential with the AEC.
