Korean exhibition venue set for expansion

News this week: The Gwangju Convention and Visitor Bureau has announced plans to expand the exhibition facilities at the Kimdaejung Convention Center (KDJCC). At a cost of US$60 million, an additional 18,000 m2 of exhibition and convention space will be added to bring the total venue space up to 53,000 m2.

Construction is set to begin in August this year and is scheduled to be completed by April 2013. Facilities will reportedly include 26 conference rooms, several large scale convention halls, 9,072 m2 of exhibition space and a multi-purpose auditorium with capacity for up to 3,000 delegates.

The KDJCC reportedly hosts on average 850 events per year, including four UFI approved events last year.
