The South China Morning Post reports that "Canton Fair posts disappointing results," but in fact the SCMP is referring the mostly meaningless reported deal value at the Spring Session. The more meaningful number of visitors was up slightly rising from 207,000 last April to almost 211,000 this year.
Unsurprisingly, buyers from Europe were down 15% year-on-year which most likely means that emerging market buyers picked-up the slack - a trend we have seen at exhibitions across Asia since 2008.
