News this week: CyberMedia, an Indian specialty publisher, released its financial results for the quarter ended 31st December 2011. Revenues for the quarter were US$3.8 million, a 5.6% decrease over the same quarter in 2010. The company recorded a net profit of US$27,000 in the period compared with a loss of US$25,000 last year.
CyberMedia also announced the results for the nine months ended 31st December, revenues in the period were US$11 million, a decrease of 19% over the same period last year. The company posted a net profit of US$74,000 in the nine-month period, compared to a loss of US$143,000 in 2010. Dilute earnings per share were Rs. 0.48 (US$0.0091) in the period.
In the nine-month period, CyberMedia generated 62% of the revenue from the media business. This accounted for US$6.8 million, a year-on-year 5.3% increase. Other revenues were generated from the media services business which decreased 41% to US$4.2 million.
