News this week: Earlier this week, CyberMedia, an Indian specialty
publisher, announced its financial results for the year ended 31st March
2012. Revenues were down 19% to US$15 million. The company posted a net profit
of US$28,000, a decrease of 41% year-on-year. Dilute earnings per share were
Rs. 1.40 (US$0.028) during the period.
CyberMedia’s media
business generated revenues of US$9.3 million or 61% of its total revenues, a decrease
of 10% year-on-year. The remaining revenues were attributed to the company’s
media services business, which dropped 29% to US$6.0 million.
The company also
announced its results for the quarter ended 31st March. Total
revenues in the period were US$3.8 million, down 4.1% compared with the same
period last year. The company posted a quarterly net loss of US$70,000, compared
to a net profit of US$235,000 recorded in the same quarter of 2011.
