News this week: Trade show organiser Reed Huabo Exhibitions, subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions China, announced the formation of Reed Huabai Exhibition, a joint venture company with CCAGM Exhibition (Beijing) Holdings, as the new organiser of the China Daily Use Article Trade Fair with Reed holding a majority stake.
Established in 1953, the next edition of the China Daily Use Article Trade Fair will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) from 2nd to 4th August this year. The three-day trade show is reportedly one of the largest of its kind in China which caters to department stores. The event is also supported by the China Commerce Association of General Merchandise (CCAGM).
Mike Jiang, managing director of Reed Huabo Exhibitions, remarked in the company’s press release, “The prospects in this industry are extremely promising. Strong consumer spending has pushed the country’s total retail sales. From 2010 to 2011, these grew by over 15%. We are delighted to have formed this partnership as it gives Reed Huabo Exhibitions full access to the whole industry chain, from gift retailing and sourcing, to retail, household consumables and department stores.”
