UBM Asia opens liaison office in Shenzhen

News this week: This week, UBM Asia announced a liaison office has been opened in Shenzhen to carry out sales and marketing functions of the company’s jewellery portfolio. UBM’s jewellery portfolio currently includes exhibitions, publications and websites.

UBM Asia organises 14 jewellery fairs in total, three of these are in mainland China including one in Shenzhen, five in Hong Kong, with the remaining in Japan, India and Turkey. Supporting its trade fairs, the company also publishes Jewellery News Asia, Jewellery News Asia (Chinese Edition), Silver Style and Four Seasons of Jewellery. UBM Asia also operates JewelleryNetAsia.com, a B2B trade portal for professionals in the jewellery and gem industries.

At this year’s September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, UBM reported that visitors from mainland China were the second largest group of visitors after Hong Kong with 11,483 attendees. The company also reports over 1,500 jewellery companies currently operate in the Shenzhen area.

Jimé Essink, president and CEO of UBM Asia, said in the press release, “Our Guangzhou office and the Hong Kong headquarters have been doing a great job in serving the China jewellery industry and have established strong relationship with the industry and the key players. It is time to extend our network in China further.”
