Messe Frankfurt to launch lighting show in India

News this week: Exhibition organiser, Messe Frankfurt, has announced the launch of a new lighting trade fair in India. Named Light India, which falls under the company’s brand of Light+Building, will be the latest addition after launches in Buenos Aires, Guangzhou, Moscow and Dubai.

Light India will be held from 5th to 8th October 2012 at Pragati Maidan Bharion Marg in New Delhi. The event will be organised by Messe Frankfurt’s Indian subsidiary, Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, and in co-operation with the Electric Lamp and Component Manufacturers Association of India (ELCOMA). It will be a biennial event showcasing lamps and luminaries. The organiser is expecting the inaugural event to attract 300 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors to occupy an exhibition area of 13,000 m2.

Wolfgang Marzin, president and CEO of Messe Frankfurt, explains that the company has identified Asia as a significant growth region for the lighting industry: “Light India is another important step in our internationalisation strategy and it will strengthen our presence in one of the world’s most important growth regions.”
