News this week: Last month, the Hong Kong Trade
Development Council (HKTDC) organised a total of seven trade fairs which
set a new record for exhibitor and buyer numbers – attracting more than 11,000
exhibitors and 221,000 buyers during April.
According to the HKTDC, a total of 6,907 exhibitors and
126,000 buyers were from overseas. The HKTDC reported buyers from Asia
increased 7.5% year-on-year, and buyers from North America and Europe also
showed positive results.
HKTDC’s deputy executive director Benjamin Chau said, “The
enlarged scale of the fairs increased business opportunities for the exhibition
industry, as well as for the exhibitors and buyers. More business was also
generated in industries such as logistics, security, marketing, translation,
hotels, and food and beverage.”
