News this week: Last week, the Hong
Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) released its results for the financial period running from July
2013 to June 2014.
The venue’s
management company, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management)
Limited (“HML”), reported a total of 1,086 events were held at the HKCEC during
the period. These included 112 exhibitions, 32 conferences, and hundreds of
corporate meetings, banquets and entertainment events. HML estimates close to 5.9
million visitors came to the venue in the period.
The HKCEC staged
eight first-time exhibitions out of the 112 exhibitions held during the reported
period. These exhibitions covered industries ranging from fine watchmaking to
pet supplies. Of the reoccurring exhibitions, 20 recorded double-digit growth
in terms of gross exhibition space compared with their previous editions.
Monica Lee-Müller, managing
director of HML, remarked, “We take pride in attracting organisers from around
the world to Hong Kong, and providing quality services for event attendees. The
HML team is proud to have served 43,096 events and over 86 million buyers,
exhibitors, visitors and guests since 1988.”
