News this week: Messe Frankfurt’s spring edition of Interstoff Asia Essential, which took place from 19th to 21st
March 2014, attracted 221 exhibitors from 10 countries and regions – including
Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Macau, mainland China, Taiwan
and Thailand.
Held at the Hong
Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), more than 7,000 visitors from 41 countries and regions
attended the three-day trade show. According to Messe Frankfurt, visitors from
Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, the U.S., Macau, India,
Australia and the U.K. made up the top ten countries and regions.
Wendy Wen, senior general
manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK), said, “While the visitor number remained
stable compared to last year, we are happy with the quality of buyers, so are
our exhibitors. The textile and garment industry in Hong Kong has formed a
Garment Development Committee, led by the Honourable Felix Chung – a government
lawmaker, to figure out a way to further boost the garment retail and wholesale
market in the city.”
