Canton Fair to trial “smart badge” solution

News this week: ExpoBee, an Isreali technology company, has agreed to work with the organisers of the Canton Fair to trial a technology solution which enables visitors to scan and save information related to products in which they are interested. The ExpoBee “smart badges” will be used during Phase 3 of the Canton Fair which runs from 1st – 5th May 2011.

The “smart badge” is essentially a device that visitors can use to scan bar codes on products displayed in booth at the exhibition. The products first need to be tagged by the exhibitor with an ExpoBee bar code. Information related to that product is then sent to a free-of-charge account set-up for the visitor on the Expo Bee website. Visitors can then access the information during or after the exhibition. The solution also allows exhibitors to access sales lead information as well as post information about their products on ExpoBee.

A system demo is available on the Canton Fair website.
