UBM appoints new head in India

Hong Kong, 28th November: UBM Asia announced this week that Joji George will be the new Managing Director of UBM India as of 3rd December. George will be taking over from Sanjeev Khaira who after three years in the role is returning to London. Khaira will take-up his new post as Managing Director – Market Development, EMEA in UBM Live.
 
George was previously the CEO of Percept Sports and Entertainment – an organiser of some of the largest events held in India. Prior to that he had held positions at MTV, Yahoo and the Global Brand Forum. George will report to Michael Duck, Executive Vice President of UBM Asia based in Hong Kong.
 
Jime Essink, President and CEO of UBM Asia commented, “I am delighted that Joji is joining us in India. He brings with him excellent credentials and experience in our sector and new ideas from the large and varied events he has been running throughout India. Also I am very pleased that Sanjeev remains within the organisation and I am sure we will continue to see a lot of him in our business. India is one of our most important markets and I am pleased that we have been able to develop the business well in India with Sanjeev at the helm.”
