Global Sources’ electronics show grows 19%

News this week: This week, Global Sources opened its fall China Sourcing Fairs: Electronics & Components at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE).

Global Sources reports a growth of 19% in number of booths, bringing the total to 3,900 booths at the co-located events, which also includes the China Sourcing Fairs: Security Products, Solar & Energy Saving Products and the Korea Sourcing Fair: Electronics & Components. Running from 12th to 15th October, the fair occupied all 10 available halls at AWE and is reportedly the largest electronics event ever held by Global Sources.

The largest group of exhibitors were reported to be from Greater China, which includes mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Other manufacturers present included those from Australia, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines and South Korea.

Tommy Wong, president of Global Sources Exhibitions, was quoted in the press release, “Our focus on presenting the hottest product categories from quality-focused manufacturers continues to draw the world's top buyers to Hong Kong every October. This, in turn, is attracting more exhibitors to the shows, which have become a platform for export success in Asia’s electronics industry.”
