News this week: The New South Wales (NSW) Government has revised its plans for Sydney’s new convention, exhibition and entertainment precinct based on feedback received from key industry players.
The initiative was first announced by the NSW Government in December last year and plans were released in July this year. Construction was reportedly scheduled to begin in September 2012 and was expected to be completed by 2015.
The revised plans will see the Sydney International Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct include at least 4,000 m2 of exhibition space, flexible plenary space and the capacity to host a variety of events. The revised plans will also feature improved connectivity with the surrounding areas. The construction has been postponed and is now scheduled to begin late next year with completion in late 2016.
