News this week: Daewoo Engineering and Construction (E&C), has been awarded the contract for the construction of the
new Matrade Exhibition & Convention Centre (MECC) from Naza TTDI, the development company of the KL
Metropolis.
Work on the foundation of the project was reportedly completed in August
this year, with the completion of the US$182 million MECC expected in 2015.
MECC will become the largest exhibition centre in Malaysia with a floor space
of 90,000 m2. It will feature 11 exhibition halls, a multi-purpose
hall and conference rooms.
