News this week: Earlier this week, Bangkok-based business information provider, Business Online (BOL), announced its financial results for the quarter ended 30th September 2011. Revenues for the quarter were US$3 million, an increase of 30% over the same quarter last year. Net income was US$535,000, a 13% growth compared with the same period in 2010.
In the quarter, the company’s online information service generated about half of total revenues amounting to US$1.5 million – an 11% drop compared with the same quarter last year. Revenues from other service, which were not specified by the company, jumped 171% to US$1.3 million and accounted for 44% of total revenues.
BOL also announced results for the nine months ended 30th September. Revenues were US$8.8 million, a 28% increase over the same period in 2010. More than half of the revenues (US$4.6 million) were generated from its online information service. Other service generated 44% of the revenues (US$3.9 million), a year-on-year growth of 98%. Net income in the period was US$1.6 million, an increase of 14% over the first nine months in 2010. BOL’s management reported that diluted earnings per share for the nine-months were Baht 0.06 (US$0.0020).
