Reed serious about 'new' air show

In a sign that its vow to relaunch Asian Aerospace in another country is serious, following the breakdown of negotiations with the Singapore government, Reed Exhibitions has appointed an industry veteran to its team. News reports today say that Clive Richardson, currently CEO of the Dubai Air Show, will become Senior Vice President Reed's aerospace and defence business for Asia/Pacific.

Reed's Asia/Pacific President Paul Beh is quoted as saying:

"Clive's coming on board now could not have been more timely given the challenging opportunities ahead, including Asian Aerospace 2008 at its new home".

BREAKING NEWS:

REED EXHIBITIONS ASIA SECRETLY NEGOTIATING WITH CHINESE CITY TO RENEGE ON COMMITMENT TO HK GOVT TO CONTINUE TO HOST ASIAN AEROSPACE IN HONG KONG BY RELOCATING SHOW AFTER 2009.
Mr. Paul Beh, President of Reed Exhibitions Asia has been conducting secret negotiations with Tianjin local government for moving Asian Aerospace from HK to Tianjin PRC/another PRC city after 2009, reneging on an agreement and promise by Reed Exhibitions Asia made to the Hong Kong Government to establishing and keeping Asian Aerospace Show in Hong Kong over the foreseeable future since its move from Singapore in 2007. This is a breach of contract, trust and integrity on the part of Reed Exhibitions Asia to the Hong Kong Government, and shows a lack of proper accountability on the part of Hong Kong Government to protect the interests of HK people to safeguard commitments made through its commercial negotiations.

More to follow.

As a singaporean and reading this news about Asian Aerospace not going to be in HK in the future, I would have thought that the Asian Aerospace show which we developed should return to Changi and NOT TO CHINA!!! I thought REED EXHIBITIONS is a singaporean company headed by a singaporean, so why are singaporeans not helping our own economy...but helping someone else's?
